Art Time Productions was established in 1997 in Perth, Western Australia and was originally a small retail outlet and studio in East Perth through which I sold and created my art.
The retail outlet ran for about six months before closing due to rising lease costs. Prior to this I was already taking on freelance graphic and web design work so I chose to adopt the business name as a banner under which all my commercial, creative endeavours now operate.
Initially centred around the services of graphic and web design demand for my services as a painter has seen me add commissioned artworks into the mix.
In the long term I hope to refine an online business model to assist artists in the promotion and sale of their own work. Currently I am developing this through my own personal web site, The Extraordinary Tourist. The overall goal of this model is to run the entire business online, allowing the artist to travel and expand their experience using the income from their work.
To that end I’ve added an Art Business Advice blog to this site to share what I’ve learned in the way of running an online arts based business. The blog is a collection of articles and videos that I’ve created over the years to assist other artists in their endeavors.
I’m very involved with my local arts community. Since the year 2000 I played a key role in lobbying for and establishing a Community Gallery in my home town of Gawler, South Australia. The Gallery has been operating with a full program of exhibitions since February 2006. During its first 18 months of operation I managed the galleries administration in the role of Secretary.
Your support (and any work you can direct my way) enables me to continue to work as an independent artist and will eventually benefit my local arts community in the longer term.
